Millbury Ox Roast

The Millbury Firemen’s Ox Roast is an annual event held in Sept.

2014 Ox Roast dates – Coming soon!

Millbury Firemen’s Ox Roast

Beginning at noon with a huge parade of fire equipment from over 10 area fire departments – the parade also showcases local high school bands, cheerleaders, sports teams and even a horse drawn funeral hearse. Area businesses build floats and state politicians come from all around. The Shriner’s bring some of their units to entertain the kids as well. It’s a good old time parade, people waving and candy being thrown from floats and fire equipment. People come from all over to see the Ox Roast Parade.

The parade ends at the Fire Hall where there is a huge car show, games for the kids with food and beverage for everyone. The firemen have a huge auction selling items donated by area businesses. You’ll see everything from gift certificates to large sheds auctioned off to the highest bidder. Life Flight even stops by for a quick meal and to allow people to see inside the helicopter.

As the day winds down you are likely to hear a local country band firing up the crowd from the shelter house.

Some years have even included fireworks at dusk.

Millbury Firemen’s Hall is only possible
because of our communities’ support and we can’t thank you enough!
